Art Museums and Aquariums, are both popular tourist destinations. This course is designed for adults to explore and fully enjoy these locations while gaining surprising insight and information suitable both for children and themselves. These facilities offer the opportunity to experience artworks and creatures up close, which are often not usually so easily accessible. So, when you visit each city or town, be sure to check them out!
After starting from Takaoka Station, take the local train to Shin-Takaoka Station, then transfer to the Hokuriku Shinkansen to reach Joetsu-Myoko Station. From there, change trains to the Niigata Station.On the next step of the journey, take the Joetsu Shinkansen to head to Jomo-Kogen Station and at Omiya Station transfer to the Tohoku Shinkansen to head to Fukushima Station. This route allows you to explore various destinations by bus or taxi from each station. Don't forget to check the timetable and enjoy sightseeing at each transfer station, too.
"Takaoka City Fujiko F. Fujio Furusato Gallery" -Takaoka city A Gallery Where You can Experience the Origins of Fujiko F. Fujio's Manga!
Takaoka city is the hometown of the manga artist Fujiko F. Fujio, where he was born and raised until the age of 20 when he moved to Tokyo. Throughout the city, you can find various monuments and signs featuring characters from Fujiko F. Fujio's works, including the "Takaoka City Fujiko F. Fujio Furusato Gallery." The city's tram line, known as Manyo Line connecting Takaoka city and Imizu city, has one special tram with a blue Doraemon design. Additionally, at Takaoka Station, you can find a large Doraemon mailbox crafted in the traditional local industry of "Takaoka copperware. The "Takaoka City Fujiko F. Fujio Furusato Gallery" also showcases a Doraemon statue made of Takaoka copperware (Pictured).

"Niigata City Aquarium Marinepia Nihonkai" - Niigata City Meet Approximately 20,000 Aquatic Creatures from around 600 Species at One of the Targest Aquariums on the Japan Sea Coast.
Niigata city is located in the Echigo Plain, which stretches along the lower reaches of the Shinano River and Agano River. Near the Shinano River, you'll find one of the largest aquariums on the Japan Sea coast, known as "Niigata City Aquarium Marinepia Nihonkai". Visitors can enjoy daily dolphin shows, explore the outdoor exhibit "Niigata Field," which recreates the local mountains and countryside, and stroll through the Marine Tunnel under the 800-cubic-meter "Japan Sea Large Water Tank"(pictured) where approximately 40 species of fish are displayed, providing an immersive and highly acclaimed underwater experience.

Located along National Route 291, "Minakami Mizukikoukan" is a convenient roadside station in Minakami Town that you'll pass through when heading to places like Tanigawadake or Okutone area. While the typical image of a roadside station is a place to purchase local vegetables and specialty products, "Minakami Mizukikoukan" offers more than that. Besides buying local agricultural products and souvenirs, visitors can also enjoy nature and various experiences, such as a park and a climbing wall. Despite being in Gunma Prefecture, which lacks a coastline, there’s a small aquarium "Suisan Gakushu-kan (Aquarium and Fisheries Learning Center)" (pictured) in this facility.

"The Flower Photography Museum (Fukushima City Museum of Photography)" - Fukushima city A Nostalgic and Charming Taisho-era Atmosphere, Designated as a Tangible Cultural Property by Fukushima City.
This building, constructed in 1922 (Taisho 11), originally served as the main building of the Fukushima Testing Institute for Electrical Experiments, which was established by the Ministry of Communications (Teishinsho) to oversee the Tohoku, Hokkaido, and Karafuto (Sakhalin) regions. It was both a government office and testing facility combined. In 2003 (Heisei 15), it was opened as a museum of photography, symbolizing the aspirations of the late photographer Shotaro Akiyama, who introduced "Hanamiyama" to the nation along with the famous saying, "Fukushima has a utopia."
